Church of Tollhouse Vision, Function and Purpose

Vision Statement

That God’s people would increasingly apprehend their identity and the power and purpose of their inheritance. That they would be transformed in the renewing of their minds, become comfortable in their own skin, and that they would courageously mobilize into multiples spheres of mission.

In other words, we discover who we are. We discover what we have and why we have it. We increasingly become free to be who God intended us to be. We live out that freedom around others. The natural outgrowth of that is we share life with others and are willing to take more risks for the sake of the kingdom.

Function

We function best by focusing on these components:

Foundation (Psalm 127:1): We build our lives on the right foundation.

Family (John 1:12): We foster a sense of family where people discover their role and can make a
     contribution.

Faith (Hebrews 11:6): We focus on God and not our problems, because God blesses faith.

Fight (Philippians 1:27): We fight for each other, and alongside one another, and not against each
     other, for what God values.

Fruit (John 15:1-5): God has called us to bear fruit; to be productive in our local Church and
     community.

Purpose

The Great Commandment (John 13:34): “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20): 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
